There is one thing that Indian weddings all have in common: colour!

Indian wedding guest outfits should be bright, festive, and rich in colour.

Men’s Attire:

The Kurta and Nehru Jacket

Kurta is a light, loose, collarless tunic that falls to about the knees. It comes with matching pants. The kurta can be worn alone or with a sleeveless waistcoat (called a nehru jacket).

For an indo western twist:

Men can wear a collarless shirt with a colourful Nehru jacket and chinos / trousers.

The Saree

A colorful saree, which is an elaborately tied drape of fabric that is worn from the shoulders to the ankles, covering one arm. Extra fabric is normally left free. Sarees can be tricky to wear but there are many YouTube videos that can show you how to drape it.

The Lehenga

A lehenga is another popular option, but unlike a saree, this is typically a two-piece outfit consisting of a crop top and full skirt. This outfit is Sonum’s favourite – most comfortable and easy to wear!

The Sharara

A sharara, which is a type of suit featuring wide-leg, palazzo-style pants and a matching tunic top (sometimes called a kurti or kurta). The set is typically decorated with sparkly beading, brocade patterns, and embroidery. This is also another favourite.

For an indo western twist:

A colourful dress coupled with Indian-inspired accessories such as bangles or a matching scarf.

Our wedding venue is Villa Medicea di Liliano. It is a villa 30 minutes from the center of Florence that will allow us to host our three events with all of you. The villa will enchant us with its historic rooms and its green spaces with a wonderful view of Florence and the Tuscan hills.
