THE LOVE STORY WE’RE CELEBRATING

Vincent and Savana met working together at a local grocery store in May of 2016. At this time Vincent was nineteen years old, and Savana was just sixteen years old, over the years working together they began to find themselves within the same circle of friends, and started a friendship of their own and eventually began dating in 2019. Since then, they have attended the College of Staten Island and have graduated together, started new careers, got engaged, and even purchased their first home. In their spare time they enjoy traveling, immersing themselves in different cultures, and trying new cuisines. Ultimately, they’ve decided that there is no better way to celebrate their love besides having their dream wedding in Italy, a place so near and dear to their hearts. They look forward to sharing this experience of a lifetime with all of their loved ones.

Ponza

Ponza is an Italian island located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, part of the Pontine Islands archipelago. It is renowned for its crystal-clear waters, hidden coves, and breathtaking landscapes. The island is an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and tranquility, yet it also offers various activities such as snorkeling, boat excursions, and hiking. Ponza is accessible by sea from several coastal towns like Anzio, Formia, and Terracina. During the summer, the island becomes a highly popular tourist destination among both Italian and foreign visitors.

The enchanting island of Ponza features beaches, sea stacks, coves only reachable by sea, and Roman ruins like imperial villas and cisterns. Ponza also offers natural trails, panoramic views, vibrant nightlife with aperitifs and restaurants. The Bourbon Port is the heart of the island, with fishing boats, colorful houses, providing sea excursions and the opportunity to visit nearby islands.

Less known but certainly as beautiful as Capri, Ponza offers landscapes and amenities unseen by us Americans, such as gelato boats.

We recommend dressing elegantly but still light, as August in Italy, especially in Formia, will be very hot. Also, for your makeup, we suggest something that allows your skin to breathe. GIFTS

A Note on Gifts: The most important thing is to have you with us on our special day. No gifts are needed or expected.

CULTURAL DIFFERENCES

-It is not customary to order a cappuccino in Italy after the morning hours
-It is not customary to order an Aperol Spritz unless you are enjoying an Aperitivo during the hours of 6pm-8pm.
-Tipping in Italy is truly appreciated and common, but is typically left with 2 euros a head as Italian waitstaff are provided with a living wage.
-If visiting or walking near any churches be sure to have your shoulders covered and clothing at least knee length.

TRICKS AND TRAPS

-You should always pay cash at most establishments in Italy as you can avoid added taxes.
-Avoid tourist restaurant traps, such as large menu displays outside or waitstaff outside to lure you in, this is typically a tourist trap.
-In tourist areas be aware of your surroundings as there are many pickpockets.
-Think as if you are in Manhattan, there are many people selling bracelets, or even winning lottery numbers, as well as card tricks, these are all tourist traps!
-Try Gelato Artigianale as it is fresh and creamy!
-Book tours and museum tickets in advance. (We heavily suggest skip the line tour tickets)
-If you are booking tours we highly recommend booking through Viator.
-Validate your train ticket on the Trenitalia app and Track your train on OrarioTreni.
-Comfortable shoes are very important as there is plenty of walking when sightseeing.
-Pack light as it could be very difficult traveling with heavy luggages.
